Hey guides! (Only sec 2s & 3s)
There would be a National Day Parade 2012 which will be held at the Floating Platform and the Singapore Youth Festival 2012 will be held at the Indoor Stadium, so if you're interested to participate in the contingent, please tell the ACLs asap!
Being part of the NDP contingent is a once in a lifetime experience.

There will be a few internal trainings and selection. We will notify you once the dates are fixed. Guides who wish to be selected for the marching contingent MUST attend ALL the internal trainings.

Here are the guidelines:
1. Secondary 2 & 3 Guides ONLY (Guides from Secondary 1 & 4 will not be accepted).
2. Singaporeans or PR
3. Minimum height 1.50 m
4. Have basic knowledge of foot drill
5. Not suffering from the following illnesses – asthma, vertigo, angina, gastritis, allergic to heat and perspiration (rashes), not able to stand in the sun for more than 20 minutes, weak ankles, etc.
6. Guides who are severely overweight (>130%) or severely underweight (<70%) should seek medical approval before participating.
7. Participants MUST be able to attend at least 80% of the training sessions.
8. Guides who need to be away for a long period from Singapore during the June school vacation or who are unable to commit to the weekly training/rehearsal schedules are advised not to participate. Guides who are absent too often will be asked to quit.

Anyway, the meeting this tuesday(7/2) is the sec 1's FIRST GUIDES MEETING!

Time: 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Attire: Guides BLACK tee, with guides skirt & belt, PE SHORTS INSIDE.

Things to bring: Water bottle. If there's anything else, i'll get the PLs to text you guys.

Sec 1s, 2s & 3s should be ready at quadrangle in your patrols by 3.30pm!

Sec 4s, the half an hour rule applies again. Most of us end at 3.30pm, so we should be there by 4pm, ready!

3.30pm - 4pm Patrol bonding time between sec 1s, 2s & 3s. Seniors, get the sec 1s to not be so shy, talk to them, make them high! :DD (Try to teach them abit of roll call, taps, guides cheer etc, yanting & nisa will be in charge of this half an hour slot)

4pm - 4.15pm Roll call (me, gen, xinying & elysia will do it (: )

This is gonna be their first meeting, i'm sure you guys will not like them to think badly of us right. Try to interact with them & get them to speak up. Pretty soon they'll start to talk to you more! (;

Sec 3s: Writing materials, guide handbook, songbook.

Sec 4s: 2 plastic containers(dont bring mini ones!), & cutlery(cups & knives are not needed), guide handbook, songbook. We'll be doing the cook badge, Ms Farhana will provide the food items.

Most of us are dismissed at/after 3.30pm. Guides who are dismissed at 3pm should be at the quadrangle by 3.30pm, guides who are dismissed at 3.30pm should be at the quadrangle by 4pm, & so on. The half an hour is meant for you to have a quick bite & change. If you are dismissed rather late, please bring along something from home, or have a heavy recess. You are responsible for your own well-being!
